Josh and Sarah 2008

Hey everyone. Just wanted to do a little update on the wedding. Now that things are starting to boil down and we're getting closer and closer to the date, I am actually getting some stuff done.

My mom sent out invitations to our Bridal Shower last week so they should be arriving shortly, if you haven't already got one. Please let me know if you didn't my moms a little worried she didn't use enough postage for them.

Also for the Bridal shower and the wedding, we are registered at Target.com and Crateandbarrel.com.

Most of the target registry was done in store, and most of the Crate & Barrel registry was done online.

We'll be having a favor making party soonish, have to figure out a date that works for all my Bridesmaids, but anyone else who feels like being a little crafty feel free to join us.

Josh and I have a meeting this Saturday with the Florist and Caterer to discuss our floral needs and finalize the menu for the reception. Just to warn any of my vegetarian/vegan guests, we will not be offering a vegetarian entree (it's just not in our budget) but I did make sure that most of the side dishes are relatively vegetarian.

Wedding invitations...I'm still working on. I wanted to make them like I did the announcements but I just don't think I've got the time. They need to go out next week and I haven't even ordered them yet. Phooey.

Ok so today was a little exciting. I went up to my parents this weekend so my mom and I could go to Joanne Fabrics to look for patterns for a wedding dress, since my mom said she would make it for me if we found something I liked.

Unfortunately all of the patterns they had for dresses were just too simple or weren't the right style that I was looking for. I was getting a little frustrated because it just felt like for the last couple weeks I've kept planning and visiting and going all over the place and not actually getting anything done and it was kinda stressing me out.

So we decided to go over to David's Bridal and look around there. We went a couple weeks ago and I tried on a dress, and while it was beautiful it wasn't really the style I wanted. This dress was seriously a cupcake princess froofy ball gown dress, and while I know that seems just like me, I really did want to go with something just a little more elegant and mature so I passed on it.

But this time around we actually had a consultant helping us and I tried on about 10 dresses. And out of those 10 I actually found 2 that I fell completely in love with. I was a little surprised that I actually found something I really liked. Both dresses were a lot more money then I was originally anticipating, one was actually priced on the tag for $1000, although it was on sale for $800.

The other one was tagged at $800 but was also being discontinued, which gave it a major discount. And since I couldn't bear the idea of waiting and the dress no longer being available when I made my decision, I jumped on it.
I called Josh and talked to him about it and he said if it was the one I really wanted then I should get it.

So I did. So that's really exciting. My dress is all paid for and should be ready for pick up sometime next month. I am going to hold off till then to pick out accessories and stuff so I can bring the girls with me for their opinions. I had my mom and my sister Rachel with me this time but I really do want to involve my whole wedding party. At least the bride's side.
I've already decided I am getting a fur lined cloak to go with the dress to give it a winter look. I tried one on with the dress and I looked like a snow princess, it was sooooo beautiful. I am so happy.

I'm not going to post pictures cuz I don't want Josh to see the dress until I wear it on our wedding day, but if you wanna see it, I can e-mail you a pic.

ok guys, here's Josh and I's official Wedding site. I'm not going to deal with My Space because I never use it any ways and Live journal is just more familiar territory, and everyone who I consider important has an LJ anyways so you won't miss out as long as you add me to your friends list.

I'm not sure if I should make this a community, or if it should just be Josh and I that have access to it. If it turns out that you guys are particularly opinionated I may switch it to a community. We'll see.

Ok so I'll just give you a little update on the wedding situation.

We have set our Official Date for December 27th, 2008. This was just the best time for us because it's during a time where Josh will be done with his training until we move to Washington and it will just be easier to plan a wedding if he's around at least for a few weeks before hand.
Also we figured it's far enough away from Christmas not to interrupt most people's family holiday time, but close enough so that people might still have time off work to travel if need be.
The 27th is a Saturday, and it will be a late afternoon ceremony and an evening reception.

We have not settled on a site yet, but we have high hopes for St. Paul's Presbyterian, formerly the restaurant, The Abbey, on the corner of Ponce and Piedmont. For those of you who aren't familiar with it you can check it our here: http://stpaulsatlanta.com

It's not actually a functioning church anymore, and is just used for special events, but it still looks like a church so it will serve our purpose quite well. We have an appointment with the coordinator on Saturday, so we will determine then if that will be our site.
